Hugs Bible Reflections for Women

[ 2 ] August 17, 2010 |

Thanks to Mindy Ferguson I have had the opportunity to review Hugs Bible Reflections For Women.

In this book you will find stories and passages that help you understand God and his word better. You will also be asked some thought provoking questions. Along with questions to see if you understood the passages listed that correspond with what that days lesson is. You can go as fast or as slow as you would like. I did 2 to 3 lessons a day. I am not completely done with the book. I wanted to go back and re-read some of the passages. I had a few sections that kept creeping back into my mind. I am thoroughly enjoying this Bible study.

For example they have a section on Waiting hearts. It has hit home for me with our struggles lately. The Bible verse used was Psalm 27:14 ” Wait for the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait I say on the Lord!” Basically it means we need to be strong and trust in our God.  For those that know me and know me well know that 2008 and 2009 pretty much shook our family. We had lost my Dad(step) at 39 unexpectedly, Paul lost his job twice, kids were having a hard time with behaviors due to autism and I was diagnosed with MS. I had my faith shaken with everything we were dealing with emotionally and physically. In reading these words I realized that I wasn’t a trusting God and being strong in my Faith.

This book has helped me find my way back to my faith and love for our Lord even deeper. I have loved the section on Choosing Love.  Mindy used 1 corinthians 13:8 “Love never Fails”  Basically reminding me that loving and liking are two different things. I can not like my husband at times but my love for him will never fail. That alone will get us through. Along with my love for the lord.

If you are feeling wayward or having a difficult time. Your relationship with our lord isn’t going as expected. Well this will help rebuild that. I am living walking proof. Even so much that I have started looking at Church’s for me and the kids to attend on a more serious level here. Pretty Amazing how when things are broken down and you think and meditate and trust. You can feel that peace. Even if your life isn’t exactly peaceful.
