The Princess Diaries
The Princess Diaries is one of my favorite sets. I love these movies and watch them each time they are on TV. This is the first time that both movies have been placed on to blu-ray. It commemorates the 10th anniversary of this family classic.
The Princess Diaries stars Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews. Two of my favorite actresses.These movies are hysterical and heartwarming. As the future queen of Genovia Princess Mia has everything she could want. Well minus the romance that she has always dreamed of. These stories provide comic relief when she is working on discovering who she is.
I know some of you may not be familiar with these two movies so I will give you the run down of both really quick.
Mia Thermopolis is an average teenager. she is sweet, geeky and pretty much invisible. She doesn’t welcome the news that her estranged grandmother is coming for a visit. She learns that is in line for the throne of a European Country. She is thrown in to complete overload as she is being taught about scarves, waves and pears. So she can become the perfect princess.She gets a makeover and a hard looking but sweet body guard. He is also her limo driver named Joe. It really gets crazy when the press learns of this news and she is thrust into the spot light. This is just about the newspapers because it also causes her issues in her high school.She must decide by independence day if she longs to relinquish her claim on the throne or become the Princess that her grandmother wants her to be.
In the second movie the fairy tale picks up where it left off. She is missing that cliche romance.She learns she must marry right away or her family will lose the crown. This movie provides more comic relife while the Princess leans about who she is and what it takes to make your dreams come true.
These are great family movies and doesn’t matter if you have a house full of boys. My sons watch them with me and enjoyed all the antics of The Princess Diaries and The Princess Diaries Royal Engadgement.
This movie retails for $29.99. The Princess Diaries runs 115 minutes and the The Princess Diaries 2runs about 113 minutes.
